A/W 2013: Denim love

No, you doesn't have to look like you're off to the rodeo. The trick is to mix the textures and fabric weights - try a loose-fit chambray shirt with your dark skinny jeans, or a basic t-shirt with boyfriend jeans and a denim vest/jacket. You can add some color to the look by wearing bright and colorful (e.g red or neon) accessories like a cute ballerina or a statement necklace. Pairing it with heels is always the best solution if you want to be more classy and feminine but don't want to carry things too far.
Personally, I'm totally in love with this trend right now, my favorites are my boyfriend jeans (find it here from H&M) and my long denim dungarees (from Pimkie). I am also planning to invest in this figure-fit denim shirt - from H&M of course :)
For me, blue (jeans) is the new black!

A/W 2013: Oversized coat

There is no better or more practical way to make a fashion statement than via your outerwear, and this season offers you a perfect way to do this - invest in an oversized coat! These coats do look beautiful on their own, but creating any kind of feminine shape for yourself, that’s the challenge. Therefore cigarette pants seem a good match and a waist belt might just become your favorite fall accessory. Otherwise, accessorize it according to the weather and your mood, and with the right pieces you can wear it not just as a winter coat, but also as a 'fall jacket' on those chilly, autumn days. If you're not sure you could pull it off, but you want to do some experimenting with this style, don't worry! High street stores such as Zara, H&M and ASOS are already offering up commercial versions of the oversized coats, featuring only one or two outsized details-  shop them now! (see the links below)

Shop them now:

my favorites at ASOS
grey straight coat (Zara)
wool coat with center zip (Zara)
long jacket with combination lapel (Zara)
reefer jacket (H&M)

A/W 2013's Trends

"From Paris to New York, stopping off at London and Milan along the way, it is clear that this coming season is all about contrast. Ambiguity between masculine and feminine, strength and fragility, opulence and grunge, past and present..."  /Vogue.com/

As you may have already found it out, in the next few posts I'd like to introduce my favorite trends (including accessories, hair, and makeup) of the upcoming Autumn/Winter season - this will be my selection, obviously there are many other trends out there that worth our money and attention (below there's a list with some links where you can find more detailed trend guides for this season).
So, here it comes: Fall/Winter 2013's Most Wearable Fashion Trends by Mija! :)

Inspiration: arm party

If you need an instant help to add color and variety to your outfit (and you are not in a mood for a statement necklace), just throw an arm party. Your possibilities are limitless, but it can be useful to have in some key pieces on which you can always count.
My personal favorite is my rose gold MK watch with a golden/rose chain bracelet, and I also have many dainty bracelets - they are really pretty but don't draw off the attention from the watch.
